JOIN ME FOR SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER:
Welcome to Fall Camping Trip | Sept 28 - Oct 2
Come and help us celebrate the wonderful colors and sounds of Fall in the style we all enjoy! Camping!
Lake Chicot State Park ...connects you to Arkansas’ largest natural lake with its calm waters, scenic cypress trees, abundant wildlife, and rich Delta heritage. Cut off centuries ago from the main channel of the Mississippi River when it changed course, this 20-mile long oxbow lake is a peaceful setting for fishing, boating, and birding. Famous for its bream, crappie, catfish, and bass fishing, Lake Chicot offers open waters and quiet timber-lined shores. With proximity to the Mississippi Flyway, this is a winter migratory bird hotspot. A nature trail also offers opportunity for hiking and wildlife watching.
There are no specific activities planned other than 3 days and 4 nights of relaxing, although there are boat & Kayak rentals, a store, and fishing available. Group meals are not provided. Just the opportunity to camp and welcome the arrival of fall.
Beautiful Lake Chico is the largest oxbow lake in the U.S.
This is a join me trip not a club sponsored event and no sites have been set aside, so if you want to go, make reservations soon. A warning about Arkansas State Park reservation cancellations. Residents of Arkansas over 60 get 50% off for RV sites during the week which is a great deal, but cancelling a reservation is expensive.
